Woke up late today, luckily i manage to meet Huiling on time...Was rushing as i'm afraid to miss the feder service, when bus came when i was on my way to the bus stop, the driver waited, so i din miss the bus...

Reached sch at 8.35am...hl reached shortly...only saw a few people there when we reach...got up the bus and waited...maked our attendence and we were ready to set off...the journey was abt 30 mins...

When we reach there, we gathered at the conference room for a short intro abt Ren Ci...a video was shown to us as well...following that, we proceded to ward visit...the lady showed us where the wards are and the place where we will play the games...we were divided into 3 groups, HL came to join me...The group then played game wif the male patients...some went to wheel the patients while others got ready to play the game...B4 the start of the game, there is a malay patient who is playing guitar, he sang us the song 'Bengawan Solo'.

The game started...the 1st winner wad the malay pateint who played the guitar...the next winner was a chinese uncle...among the group there playing, he can be considered quite vocal...he talks most of the times, can speak a few languages too...He also sang songs for us, some chinese & Hokkien songs...

HL got the ball during 1 of the rounds, that uncle asked her to sing a chinese song, but she's not sure of that song, so all of us sing together...there is another gal who got the ball twice...she sang a song for the first time and that uncle asked her to march for the 2nd time...that uncle quite funny also, when the GL give the biscuits to other patients, he will say to the patient in dialect ' bo kong gam sia arh' then the other pateint just sat there smiling...he looks kind of shy too...

Another patient joined us when we were abt to end the game, so we played a few more rounds...after the game, we asked the malay uncle to sing wif us and he play the gutiar...as we sing along, an uncle fall asleep, the vocal uncle asked me to push the slping uncle to his side, i did it. The next thing he did was he nudge the slping uncle, saying in dialet ' y u slp? u didn't slp last nite arh?, wake up'...we were laughing when we heard that..he very funny...

Lunch time for them...helped to wheel them to the tables...sang birthday song for the uncle whose birthday falls in Nov...he similed as we sang the songs and waved too...then someone went to play the piano...she was playing 'tong hua' and we sang along too...she played Canon in D as well, but not the whole song as 1 uncle requested her to play some current songs from singers like jay chou or stefanie sun..she played 'Jian Dan Ai & An Jing' and can see that the uncles are enjoying...

Next we went ward to ward to sing birthday songs for the other patients whose birthday falls in Nov...When we were abt to go for lunch, the vocal uncle said ' thank you for coming... go home tell ur parents i wish them 身体健康, 白头偕老'.

Had our lunch at the conference room...the day ended wif ward to ward singing of songs...we sang 3 songs to ewach ward...had a debrief and left...fell aslp in the bus on the way back to school...saw 184 whe i was abt to alight, luckily the driver waited, and i manage to take that bus...

On the whole, i think that this visit is fun and interacting wif the elderly isn't that diff after all, need to have more interaction and you'll get to know more things from them too...

Again, sheis working OT, means not cooking...last min notice, tink i'll just have some biscuits for dinner...He seems to be in a bad mood lately, duno wad happen also...haiz...wonder when can hear laughters again...it appears to be easy but it ain't so after all!!!
